I began the Full-Time Training in Anaheim in February 2002 with the desire to give my entire strength to God to serve Him. This was my view because I loved Him so much and appreciated all the wonders He did for me. I thought that in sacrificing my life to Him in giving Him two years of my life, He would reward me with a glorious vision of Himself.

He has done this. But further, He has shown me that for me to really know Him in an intimate way, I need to care for what He cares for, and love what He loves. God loves man. The famous verse John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world.” God loved the world so much “that He gave His only begotten Son.”

In the Training I've realized that my serving God must be to serve man whom He loves. Part of the Training involves going to various college campuses and approaching people with the gospel. On one occasion, my gospel partner and I were both very tired. Each of us just wanted to go home, but we realized that we were not there for our own interests. So, we approached a girl at a table. Eventually, she received the Lord, praying with us. This made me appreciate the Lord in a much deeper way.

Through contacting people, I have come to know a joy greater than any that issued from my own relationship with the Lord Himself, however sweet. He loves man and wants man to be saved. To love Him and serve Him we also must love man and care for man.
